Circle of Light - Growing Light Against Darkness

We huddled together on a hillside at night, mostly dark save our very cool bonfire. Very windy, and quite chilly. Our little circle was mostly dark when Melissa lit her candle and began by sharing one of her favorite memories or things she learned over the weekend...

When she finished, she lit the candle of someone on her left side, and they shared as well. We continued on until everyone had finished sharing with one another, both their memories and their new light. Among darkness, we were able to pass along a small bit of light to each other, and our combined fires created a distinct, perceptible and warm light for everyone.

We took a few quiet moments for prayer, and hung out by the bonfire for a while. What a beautiful night, and even the wind made things very cool...
