Final Challenge - Faith in Action
Throughout the weekend everyone had been talking about what kinds of challenges are presented to us in life. Each of us had talked about, worked, and helped one another through mental, physical, artistic and faith challenges. The purpose in a retreat is to get away from it all, take a step back, and grab a moment or two to assess all of the craziness in your life. When an army "retreats", it is not necessarily giving up, but pulling back, regrouping, and getting stronger for the next day -- the same is true here. We must figure out, after a weekend of thoughts, how we can apply what we have discovered in our everyday lives. We each must find ways to take our faith "on the road" with us, back to Arlington and to those that we interact and spend our lives with.

Life presents us with many different challenges... the bottom line is that no matter what, no matter how hard the task may seem, how difficult the change may be, or how daunting your call to action may appear, we must recall that one thing will remain constant. God, and His love for His people, His gift of free will that enables us to make our own decisions no matter how challenging, and His gift of grace that allows us to reconcile with Him when we wander of course. We must also recall that when we act together, not as individual candles but as one bright light, we become stronger as a community. And Psalm 121 reminds us that peace, love, stability, and eternity are gifts that God has offered to us. These are also gifts that we have been called to share with others...
