What is WAY - What We're All About

First, we should explain "WAY". W.A.Y. - Wise and Young. This is the name for the high school youth group at our church. It is NOT because we're WAY too fat, not that at all! We are Catholic high school students from Arlington and Fairfax Counties in Northern Virginia. Our bond: St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

Every Sunday night throughout the school year, we meet for a few hours to discuss things that are going on in our lives, and how it relates to our faith. A few times during the year, we do something a bit out of the ordinary including a fall Diocesan Youth Rally, one overnight "lock-in" at the church, and now two weekend-long retreats.

We also participate in many service projects, ranging from volunteering at local downtown Washington, D.C. soup kitchens to the hosting our parish's variety show, called Cabaret, in the spring. The year of service and fundraising culminates each summer with a Group Workcamps trip. This coming summer, we are traveling to the Wilmington, North Carolina "Reach the Beach" Workcamp for a week of faith, work, friendship and fun. You can also find out more about Workcamp on this site too.
